Introduction , posted 6/13/05

I would like to take this oppurtunity to welcome everyone to "Jim's Corner". First,I would like to thank Hugh and Phil for their dedication and effort to the preservation and maintenance of interest in the bingo machines, as well the time they spend helping with individual problems on the forum. Kudos and a big "hip, hip, hooray!" to you both! So for Hugh, Phil and all the members and guests who share the same interest, and who are involved in restoring and collecting these wonderful machines, I hereby dedicate Jim's Corner to you! I hope you will enjoy my articles as much as I will writing them!

Recently, I had written to Hugh about my five top picks of machines from the 50's, each representating my favorites from I what referred to as the "five basic innovative groups",et, multiple card, advancing odds/features, magic lines, magic squares, and magic screen. I don't know how many bingers there are left from the 50's who played and worked on these machines, but having started playing bingos at age 12 in 1958, I'm probably one of the younger ones at the tail end of the gruop. One of my main objectives in my upcoming articles will be to bring back my recollections of the 50's games
and some of the places I played them and try to "bring them back to life", for ex players as well as younger guests and members who may not be familiar with them. I will begin with my thoughts on the very first Bally bingo machines from the chronological order on the bingo pinball "super site", and then start with ATLANTIC CITY, the first bingo I played as a kid. All for now, and keep checking Jim's Corner for my premier post!
